When I was a mardy teenager I’d spend some of my summer working in my dad’s caff, which was a Spaniards vision of a greasy spoon/pasta joint (don’t ask me why) As the English breakfasts outsold the carbonaras, these generic cash and carry sauce bottles appeared on every table, plus the giant vat we used to fill them, hidden in the store room. If I was going to be loyal to my memory, they’d be ketchup and brown sauce, but yellow is prettier, soz.
